NOU 2025: 9 Defeat Norway in Afghanistan 2015–2021
The Norwegian Commission on Afghanistan assesses Norway's 20-year involvement in Afghanistan. It acknowledges Norway's role as a supportive ally to NATO and the U.S.; highlights contributions in peace diplomacy, military, and aid efforts; and addresses the challenges and setbacks, including attempts to build a stable Afghan state, corruption, and women's rights. Lessons learned are discussed to inform future international engagements.
