International migration 2010-2011
Annually Norway sends a report to the OECD – Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development – as a contribution to the common reporting system on migration for the OECD countries, called SOPEMI. The Norwegian SOPEMI-report, prepared by civil servants from the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Children, Equality and Social Inclusion, the Ministry of Labour and the Ministry of Education and Research - based mainly on figures from Statistics Norway and the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration - contains statistics on migration and on the composition of immigrants and their Norwegian-born children.
