Studie
Home energy conversion can be a net cost for the average household
Energy consumption in homes accounts for a considerable portion of annual electricity usage in Norway, with government targets aiming to reduce this consumption significantly. This study examines the ability of Norwegian homeowners to finance stricter energy efficiency requirements without public support. It estimates costs based on income, debt, and wealth of homeowners and analyzes impacts on house prices and financial systems. Findings indicate that while most homeowners can meet these requirements financially, around 10% may face difficulties, particularly impacting liquidity and credit demand.
