This document is Norway's National Inventory Report for the year 2024. It serves as the documentation of Norway's greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The NIR and the associated Common Reporting Format (CRF) tables have been prepared in accordance with the revised UNFCCC Reporting Guidelines on Annual Inventories as adopted by the COP by its Decision 24/CP.19. The methodologies used in the calculation of emissions are consistent with the 2006 IPCC Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories supplemented by aspects of the 2019 Refinement to the 2006 IPCC Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories (2019 IPCC Refinement), and the 2013 Supplement to the 2006 IPCC Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories: Wetlands (IPCC 2013 Wetlands Supplement). As recommended by the IPCC Guidelines, country specific methods have been used where appropriate. The Norwegian Environment Agency, a directorate under the Norwegian Ministry of Climate and Environment, is responsible for the reporting. Statistics Norway has been the principal contributor while the Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research is responsible all information regarding Land Use, Land Use Change and Forestry
