This interministerial action plan sets out environmental priorities and measures for the housing and building sector for 2009–2012. It focuses on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, lowering energy demand in buildings, minimising hazardous substances, ensuring good indoor climate, and reducing waste through reuse and recycling. The plan emphasises coordinated efforts across central and local government, industry stakeholders and owners, and highlights the need for statistics, standards, and pilot projects to support implementation. It is intended as a management and coordination tool for follow-up and monitoring over the four-year period.
