Monitoring of the atmospheric ozone layer and natural ultraviolet radiation: Annual report 2012
In 1990, the Norwegian Environment Agency established the monitoring programme for the atmospheric ozone layer, later extended to include ultraviolet radiation in 1995. This annual report summarizes the 2012 results, trend analyses for ozone from 1979-2012, and ultraviolet data from 1995-2012. Key findings include below-average ozone levels in Oslo during some months of 2012, while trends suggest stabilization since the mid-1990s. Satellite data complement ground-based observations for a comprehensive ozone and UV monitoring in Norway and the Arctic.
