Northern Lights on PISA 2006 Differences and similarities in the Nordic countries
This publication is the third edition of Northern Lights on PISA. The first editions were based on PISA 2000 and PISA 2003 whilst the current edition is based on PISA 2006. As with former editions, this one has received financial support from the Nordic Council of Ministers. The Nordic countries are located in the north-western corner of Europe and consist of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. The Nordic area also includes the autonomous areas of the Faroe Islands and Greenland under Denmark, and also Åland which belongs to Finland but has some degree of autonomy. However, in this publication the last mentioned areas will not be specifically treated except for the Faroe Islands.
